"Every feeling is
a field of energy. A pleasant feeling can nourish. Irritation is a feeling
which can destroy. Under the light of awareness, the energy of irritation can
be transformed into an energy which nourishes."
- Thich Nhat Hanh
On a micro molecular level, energy and matter are the same
things. The only thing that
differentiates a door and a thought is the rate of vibration. The more dense the matter, the greater the
vibration.
Science is a story told
in installments. Rupert Sheldrake
“The Living Matrix” is
a movie that explores the various modalities of energy medicine and the growing
science and discussion around it. The
final twenty minutes talks about the connection between the brain, energy and
information.
Lnnn McTaggart (Unity Fields) states that the “brain is
closer to a receiver of information” rather than something that processes,
decodes and stores information. Bruce Lipton talks about the mind as an energetic field with an MEG probe outside of
the head being able to read a field of neural activity. Lipton goes on to suggest that information
informs biology. Belief affects how we
behave and thoughts create our moments.
Indeed, thoughts release chemicals which directly affect our bodies
ability to maintain equilibrium, feel well or inform our body that something
needs our attention.
Our mind cannot distinguish between action or thought. Belief,
as in the case of the placebo affect, can even override biology. Lipton goes on
to suggest that belief itself is our body’s strongest medicine.
Dr. Eric Pearl talks about this field being comprised of
energy, light and information. Pribram
even goes further and suggests that memory actually exists in this field,
outside of our body.
Our bodies are essentially a field, made up of molecules
vibrating at various speeds. In this field based model of the body, information
plays a key role. Information determines
what signals outside of the cell turn it on or off to various stimuli.
Genes are potential
not deterministic Bruce Lipton (Biology of Belief)
So what does all of this information have to do with energy
medicine? Energy practitioners, shamans, healers and empaths have intuitively
worked with bodies as fields of vibration. Having the capacity and practice to
see, feel, hear or experience the human being as a field of energy reinforces
the science that is beginning to merge into the mainstream.
The more I learn about all of this, the more impressed I am
with the wisdom and accuracy of Chinese Medicine which precedes modern medicine
by a whopping 5,000 years. Modern “Science” is just now beginning to catch up
with this perspective.
We are not just ingesting food in our bodies. |
Your body is a field of vibration. It is a heart and a bone and a breath and
more. What you breathe in your field and
what you breathe out of your field matters.
You are not just moving air in and out of your lungs, but you are moving
gratitude, overwhelm, wrath and bliss.
What you put in your stomach is not just a steak and salad, but you are
also consuming your goals, your repressed feelings, your celebrations and
griefs. All thoughts and things move through our fields and interact with our
body parts both seen and unseen.
This holistic way of practicing wellness leads not only to
better health and well being, but to transformation. Ultimately, the goal is not only better
physical health, but an awareness and profound appreciation for what you and
all of your field of vibration have been specifically designed to do and be and
serve. Ideally, transformation brings you closer to what
Barbara Ann Brennan in Healing Hands of Light states, going back to “remembering who you are”.
